In our household, we tend to have tacos/burritos on a fairly regular basis. Probably once every two weeks. It's a quick and easy meal when rushed to get something on the table.
I don't mind the prepackaged taco seasoning, though it can be quite salty, but prefer to create my own out of ingredients that most people have in their spice cupboard anyway.
............................................................................................................

Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp of chili powder
- 1/4 tsp of black pepper
- 1 tsp of sea salt or pink Himalayan salt (option to use seasoning salt as well, for more added flavour)
- 1.5 tsp of garlic powder (alternatively...you can add half a tsp of garlic powder to the taco seasoning mix and one clove of crushed garlic to the meat just as you're finishing up the cooking process. Or if you're a garlic lover like myself, feel free to add more cloves of garlic to the mix!)
- 1 tsp of ground cumin
- 1 tsp of onion powder (there is also the option to add half a tsp of onion powder to the dry mix, chop up 1/4 cup of onion of your choice and add it to the meat a few minutes before you take it off of the stove.)
- 1 tsp of dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp of paprika
- 1 dash of cayenne pepper to taste
Mix the dry ingredients together and add to the meat just a few minutes before you're about to remove it from the heat.
Enjoy!
