Happy Tuesday!!! Self-care isn’t just about taking a spa day or soaking in a hot bath....it's also about mental recovery and maintenance. As the well known saying goes, 'You can't pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first.'
Burnout is a real thing. It can creep up on your without warning. Sometimes people are so used to their lives; the running around and constant stress....that they don't notice what it is actually doing to them. Learn to be mindful and recognize the signs of burnout.
1) Inability to concentrate, memory fog, confusion, headaches
2) Reduction in job performance
3) Exhaustion and fatigue
4) Not taking care of yourself - unhealthy eating, lack of sleep, drugs/alcohol
5) Relationship problems
6) Lack of motivation
7) Cynicism, frustration and negative attitude
8) Generally feeling unhappy, anxious or depressed
9) Health problems
10 More sick days, absent from work
While a word search won't help with burnout....it can help with some self-car awareness! Take a few minutes to yourself on your break or lunch hour. How ever long or short, downtime is important!
